Before I let you in on the little secret I want you to ask yourself a few questions.  Do you have a clear vision of how you want your life to be?  Are you satisfied with how successful your business is?  Are you happy with the way you look and feel?  Do you want more money, desire a new car, or long to stroll through the streets of Italy?

I know I do, and that is why I have been changing the way I think and do things.  If you are like so many others who desire things in life but they never come to fruition, than you need to stop what you are doing and start to think about what it is that you truly desire and want out of life. Once you have a clear vision of what your goals are you can begin to see results right away if you follow these simple steps.

First, write down everything you hope for or want on a piece of paper.

I am not just talking about what you want out of your business, but what you would like out of life, for yourself, your family, etc.  Not until you really stop and think about what you desire, can you truly have your dreams turn into reality and bring success into your life.

Now that your list is made you have started the ball rolling.  Just by putting your dreams and desires into concrete form you have put the vibrations out there into the universe and your plan is already starting to make these dreams a reality.  Now you can't just write something down and walk away thinking that you are done.  No, there is some work that must go along with it.

Inorder to put your words into action I want you to create a Vision Board.

For those of you who are unfamiliar with Vision Boards, they are most often made on a poster board and consist of pictures which represent your goals, dreams and aspirations in life.  Vision Boards are a powerful visual tool that will motivate and inspire you to reach your desired goals.  There are several ways in which you can make a Vision Board.  Traditionally people cut out pictures of what they desired, from magazines, newspapers and books and pasted them onto a poster board.  But today there are other creative ways to make your Vision Board.  There are companies out there that will create one online for you.  Below are just a few of the sites that provide such a service.  I have not used any of them, nor do I endorse them.  I am just providing you examples of a few sites that came up in my Google search.  If you choose to make your Vision Board online, you should research each company and find out which one best fits your needs.

http://www.visionboardsite.com/    http://www.mymasterboard.com/   http://www.visualizeyourgoals.com/

http://www.spiritual-law-of-attraction-prosperity-resources.com/law-of-attraction-vision-board.html

Or you can do a spin off of the traditional poster board and paste pictures onto a large sea shell, picture frame, chicken wire screen, etc.  You can be as creative as you like?  Just make sure that you don't get caught up in the creative part and never get your board made because you can't stop looking for just the right piece to make it on.  That's what I did until I came to my senses and reminded myself that my true goal was to get my wishes and desires onto paper as soon as possible so that I could get results faster!

vbHere is an example of my Vision Board:

I cut out pictures of places I want to travel to, people who've inspired me & I aspire to be liike, things I want to do, i.e., swim w/ the dolphins,  quotes to inspire me & keep me on track, pictures to remind me to live healthier & happier, and I even left a few blank spaces so that I can continue to add to it.

Place your Vision Board in a prominent area.

You will want to prominently display your board in an area that you will see it often.  I have mine in my office.  I also took a picture of it and made it my background wallpaper on my laptop and cell phone.  This way I can take time to look at it if I'm in the office or out in the field.  You may want to share it with others so that they are familiar with your goals and can motivate you along the way.  My business partner and I both have made Vision Boards and we talk about it often so that we keep each other on track.

Don't just look at it....feel it!

Throughout the day take time to look at the pictures on your Vision Board and really feel how it would feel if you were to travel to the places you have listed.  What would you be doing?  What would you be seeing? If you want to get in shape and start living a healthier life think about how you would feel and look if you were 15 lbs lighter?  Think about how much more confidence and energy you would have.  Envision how busy you would be and how much money you would make if your business took off and you became very successful.  Think about what you would do with it.  Think about how you would grow professionally and what it would feel like to have reached each of your goals.

I'm sure most of you have been hearing a lot of talk lately about positive affirmations, the power of positive thinking and the Law of Attraction.  What you think about and desire will come your way, whether it is positive or negative.   You really need to start being more aware of the negative things you say about yourself.  Like "I can't" or "I'm so dumb"  I was recently walking down the book aisle of Costco when I saw this beautiful book entitled"You Can Heal Your Life" by Louise Hay.  She is all about positive thinking and how your thoughts create your life.  Click here to see a short clip from "You Can Heal Your Life."

So now that I let you in on every successful person's secret tool just remember that YOU are the key to your success!  You can be as successful as you want, as long as you have a clear vision of what you desire.  And as you work daily to reach your goals you will be surprised at quickly you can achieve success!

I would love to see pictures of your Vision Boards, as well as hear about all of your success stories.  Your stories of success will encourage others to achieve their own success!

Hi Reece, A Positive attitude, clear vision and a realistic goal is everything.  Thanks for the reminder!

Nicely done.   It's a good reminder.

I think your smile says it all.  Great reminders. Thanks.

I have been reading Louise Hay for years and it has definitely changed my life.  I do believe that our thoughts become our reality.  Thanks so much for your post!

Well written.. I am creating my own vision board.. thanks a lot for the inspiration, I have been thinking of doing this for a while... glad you reminded me again...

Great ideas for "breaking out of" where we are at.  As someone once said, "keep doing what you're doing and you'll keep getting what you're getting." ~ Evelyn

I love the vision board, I am going to set one up for my bucket list also.

Some days I need I vision wall! Great post we have to keep trying in this market it can get you down fast if you let it!

Great post! I really like the vision board so I am going to try that first!

I absolutely love this concept---And it's a new one for me.  Having a Vision Board in my office to look at each day would be very invigorating when I'm feeling a bit lazy.  I hope this becomes a featured post!

Whether you call them vision boards, treasure maps, etc....I have been doing this for decades....and no one would believe it unless they really tried it...we know as you do...it works !  Ihave an autographed copy of You Can Heal Your Life and have given literally dozens of copies as gifts...for people open to hearing it...Louise Hay, Catherine Ponder and a host of other folks have lots of good things to say !

I can certainly see why this is a featured post.  Awesome information and so true.  Another alternative to the vision board is a vision book. You can take it with you anywhere.

I'm in a seminar this week and the subject of a vision board came up.  Hmmm... maybe I'd better get going on one.

REECE - I've never heard of the online visionboard companies.  That is is a really interesting concept.  I like your ideas.  This is something that I've thought about in the past, but never got started with it.  Thanks for the tips.

Reece,

Good insights.

And like Adam, I've never heard of the online companies. Very cool! Thanks!

Thanks for bringing up this subject again--months ago I was inspired and vowed to get my "passport" in order, so this is the nudge I needed! also the vision board is a great motivator-lots to do...

I have done this in the past, and it works to a tee.  I need to get back to work on a new vision board.  Thanks for the reminder!

Reece thank you great post.  I am bookmarking it so I can real it again later... I love Louise Hay and agree with everything you are saying... Are you familiar with Jeannette Maw? She has a great newsletter you might like it...http://goodvibecoach.com/

It is so nice to wake up and read this positive post! Very nice. I have a small group of friends who meet each month and do something similar to this. We have notebooks we keep and put our thoughts and goals for the month. We call it our "clip-n-snip" night. It works, is fun , and a great excuse to get out of the house with great friends.

Have a terrific weekend!

Hi Reece - great post!  A positive attitude is the only way to feel good in life!  I have discovered that visualization is the absolute key to achieving my goals. Once I see it clearly in my mind and feel and experience the results ... and show gratitude ... results can come to me in mere minutes, hours, or a few days.

Yes we are the key to our own success.  We need to visualize success like you say.  Great tips for all of us

I have a few things on a bulletin board in my office that hep keep me grounded.  Pictures of my family, firends, postcards with great pictures to visit and a few sayings that I try to remember when I'm down in the dumps.  Sometimes I just sit back in my chair and stare at the board and realize that keeping things in perspective is the most important thing I need to do everyday!

Reece,

This is a great idea to keep yourself focused on your goals and remind yourself of the many people who inspire you and places you want to explore.  I like to surround myself with people who inspire me to make a difference and I have pictures around my home that remind me of what is truly important.  My philosphy is "Embrace Life and all it's experiences."  Thanks for the great ideas - I am bookmarking your post and will explore a bit later.

Reece- I'll be honest...I used to snicker about things like this. Until I met someone who practices visualization on a regular basis. At first, I just thought she was the luckiest person I had ever met. Everything she does in her business produces results, even though I have done the same things and got nothing. Every time there is a drawing or a gift being given away, she wins it. So, let's just say I'm not snickering any more, and I think your vision board is a great place for me to start! Thanks!

Hi Reece, Congratulations on your gold star. Great post and well written. So is it your goal to be like Rosemary or to meet her? LOL. Because she is one heck of a lady.

I liked your post.  Thinking I should expand a bit - I keep a simple visual in front of me at my desk of the self-employed: "Action equals Results".  Better get off Rain and get to work!

Awesome post Reece and I have a friend in Maryland that proved visualization works!

Mana,

Thanks for the congrats...I didn't even know I received a gold star!  RE: Rosemary...I would like to meet her as well as become someone she looks to for staging her listings...that is if she doesn't have someone already.  Or if she'd like to try someone new I'd love the opportunity.  Rosemary is a smart business woman and I would love to learn from her as well.  I also put her on my board as I am wanting to partner with other Realtors in the area just like her...do you need a Home Stager?

Best wishes and continued success!

our office has classes where we got together to do our vision boards.

I've heard of this positive approach...thanks for the reminder.

This has worked for me for 25 years--we all need a carrot sometimes to get us going!

Hi Reece, The Law of Attraction.  I don't use a vision board, but do practice positive thinking and the law of attraction.  I have a very very strong connection to it and was planning on doing a post on it (just not enough hours in the day).  The vision board is a good idea to put into practice.

Reece- Perfect post! I use this concept. Mine is in a 3 ring binder. It does work. I was not aware of the online companies, so thanks for that tip.One thing is certain, You have to be clear on what you want, and this is a great way to do it! Thanks for the post.

congrats on the featured blog and newletter feature!  Well deserved Reece.  This is an excellent post.  I am off to make my new board!

Reece,  Yes I have a visual board and the affirmative thoughts & sayings are good and watching "The Secret" really gets you going in the right direction.  I need to read my visual board more often as I forget to do it.  I know it works because years ago I had some "visual papers" and goals instead of a board and I had a picture of a blue jaguar that I thought was pretty sharp and at another time I wrote down a goal that we would probably move in 2003.  Several years later I was driving a blue jaguar (and totally surprised when I found the visual papers in my cedar chest) and we also moved to a Golf Course View in May 2003 - - - - so it works!!

Reece ... I like your blog article about the VISION BOARD, and positive affirmations, and the power of positive thinking, the Law of Attraction ...   What you think about and desire will come your way, whether it is positive or negative.   Thanks, and Let's move forward.  Keep up the good work.

Awesome!! I agree your smile says it all.

Have you read "The Secret"  or watched the dvd. check it out at this site. http://www.thesecret.tv/ I bought a bunch of dvd's and give them to my friends and clients.

Great article.  Thank you for taking the time to share.

Hi is funny... you just validated what I have been doing for some time now...and in my office they think I'm a nut case because I do Have a vision board....is not that I can take criticism but it gets to you ones in a wile.....so I love to see that I'm not the only one

What a great time for me to see your Blog.  I am on vacation(celebrating my 35th wedding anniversary) in the Bahamas and this is usually the time I take to renew my commitments to my life plan.  I love the vision boards on line as I am a techie nut! I definitely will incorporate this into my plan.

I have found that I am a very positive person and love to bring smiles and positive attitudes to all the folks whose lives I touch daily.  I will share this idea and encourage them to look for pleasures and get over their pain.  I too love to read great positive books as it is much easier to be up then to  deal with negative and be down.

Thanks for sharing and I hope someday we meet.  I love to have people like you in my life!

Reece, As soon as I get a listing worth staging, you are my gal. Right now I have a listing that is the most beautifully decorated house I have seen in Camarillo. Decorated mostly by "Great Rooms". Do you know those ladies? If not I have to introduce you to them. They use the most talented paint artist (I think that's her title) in the area.

Yeah! We all need a clear vision.

This has been Keller Williams business motto all along.  Thanks for spreading the word and driving it home.  It truly does help to focus on your own goals in life.

Reece - I have a vision board on the all next to my computer desk. It has definitely helped me alot! Great post!

The Vision board is something I had thought about doing after reading most of "The Secret" and never got around to it.  I definitely want to do that very soon.  Your post is a good reminder.  Thanks!

Yes if you see it you can have it!!!I used to have a picture of the beach when I was a Realtor in Boston, many years ago. Now I live in Marina Del Rey CA. It works. Great Post!

I loved your Blog.  I have a vision board in my head, however I never thought of putting it on a poster board and seeing it every day to motivate me!  I even have the pictures of what I want to have in my future cut out and put in a folder.  Think I will dig them out and make one!  Thanks for your idea!

Thanks for the great advice. I love to make lists of what's important in life, but this takes it a step further.

You say:  Do you want more money, desire a new car, or long to stroll through the streets of Italy?

I answer:  YES, YES AND YESSSSS! TO ALL OF THE ABOVE!  THESE ARE ALL IN MY LONG TERM GOALS!!! ...In my 5 year plan.  And you have just reminded me of them.  I am focused.  I keep my eye on the prize!!  Your blog is spot on for me.

Reece, after reading your post, or actually while reading it, I was already collecting items, I make you a promise that within a couple of weeks I shall send you pictures of MY BOARD, I will take that first step simply because YOU inspired me. My 14 days are counting.... I'll better go work on that board. Thank You again!

Reece, Thank you so much for the reminder.  I am a very visual person, so a vision board would be very motivating to me.  Being new to real estate sometimes is very overwhelming to me and I just wonder when is the first closing going to come.  I know it is going to come and a the vision board technic will remind me why I just need to work and have patience.  I know I am going to be very successful in Real Estate and I refuse to be part of the statistics of agents leaving in less than a year.  I sincerely thank you for this reminder. I truly appreciate you sharing this.  Thanks

This is a great post.  I can't even tell you how powerful this is.  I first heard of the Law Of Attraction from my 17-year old sister who read the secret.  She was SOOO convinced that this was this truly worked that it made me a bit intrigued.

However, I still 'blew her off' as a just an immature teenager for the next few months.  Then, I finally bought the CDs (with the gift card my sister gave me last Christmas).  I listened to the CDs and was slightly skeptical but open enough to try it.  I made a goal for myself that I thought was TOTALLY NOT reachable;  I wanted to double our savings account balance in a span of two months.  I really didn't think it was possible.  But, as The Secret suggested, I gave it a deadline.  I even wrote the $$ and deadline date on a Post It and kept it around my laptop the last couple of months as a reminder.

I CAN NOT EXPLAIN TO YOU HOW FREAKY it is that I reached the goal EXACTLY on the 'deadline' I set for myself according to The Secret.  Tomorrow is the deadline and I am about to deposit a big, fat check into my bank account as a result of some very suprising real estate business that I was blessed with.

I was mostly skeptical because, as a Christian, I believe God is behind everything.  And I still think He is!  But I think He IS connected to the universe and that The Secret is actually HIS message to us.  Interestingly, after reading The Secret, certain biblical messages made more sense to me!  (things that Christ said)

Anyway, I don't want to turn this into a cathecism class.  I just wanted to say that The Law of Attraction is so powerful it is truly amazing....and genuine!

I watched "the secret" and made some vision boards.  I have noticed a huge improvement in my attitude mostly.  Thinking positive and believing in yourself, combined with hard work, will really get you pretty far.  In the areas where I feel I am not moving forward, I sit down and make a list of the things I want to believe about a certain topic versus the things I actually believe.  Then I try to get rid of the negative beliefs.

I am truly a different person since I started doing this.

Awesome, awesome stuff .. thank you!  I used to do this kind of stuff but have gotten away from it.

Hi Reece, thanks for the inspiration. I haven't heard of a vision board, though I understand and know the concept.  What a motivational piece to add clarify to one's life.

Thanks Reece, for one of the best ActiveRain posts I've seen yet. Some very successful individuals swear by them . John Assaraf of Re/Max and The Secret fame and author of "The Street Kids Guide to Having it All" and others is a big proponent. Thanks for a great reminder and info to help us with our goals.

Hi Reece, I first made a 'goal poster' in in a 1983 Women in Management class the last semester of College. I dated it 10 years in the future, put magazine photos of a husband, son, daughter, cat, dog, beautiful house, grand piano, active lifestyle, sporty red car, and a successful career.

I was amazed when I pulled that poster out 10 years later to find the only thing that didn't happen was a son and a dog! Time to do another one...and thanks for the reminder!

Hi Reece-Beautifully put! A good reminder that we can change our thinking and form new daily habits that will bring out the best in us and others.

I hadn't heard of vision boards before, but it makes perfect sense. The subconscious mind responds powerfully to visual cues. Thanks for sharing this, Reece!

I've written down my dreams and goals and posted them but have never done a vision board  I can see how this could be effective.

The Secret: Positive Thinking - the key to it all.  Thanks

Reece,

Well, first of all, congratulations on your 'featured post' (was that part of your 'intention' when writing this?!).

I am a firm believer in the power of intention and manifesting your desires  Even though I have known about Vision Boards for years now, I never really did much more than think about what a good idea it was. I thought, however, that it took too much effort to find the board material and then search through publications for pictures, etc.   I had no idea that there were websites where you could actually make your vision board easily!  Thank you so much for this information!  I'm making it a priority to choose one of the websites and 'create away' over this holiday weekend!

Val

I'm sitting here right now looking at my BABY picture in the center of my vision board!  My idea is to create my board with the theme "The woman I was meant to be" ... and build on that.  Right before I opened this, I was going through magazines to add to my board.  I TRULY believe when we think of something often, the universe brings us more resources.

Thanks for the opportunity to offer my opinion

Theresa

Thank you Reece . . . I have not seen a vision board since I was a child.  What a great way to enhance ones' bucket list!

Thanks again,

Gene

Thanks so much for taking the time to blog this one.  I'm in a slump, this was so encouraging thanks again!
